1. Beverages can stain Invisalign aligners

Invisalign trays are clear and, like your teeth, are highly susceptible to staining. Therefore, you may need to avoid certain drinks while wearing your trays. Try to avoid consuming:

If you can’t survive without your morning cup of coffee, remove your aligners and thoroughly brush them before putting them back in. Better yet, remove your aligners before drinking your favorite beverage.

2. Invisalign aligners promote good oral hygiene

You have to brush and floss your teeth before you put your aligners back in. This can form better oral hygiene habits, including brushing and flossing, according to The New York Times.

Traditional braces can make brushing and flossing much harder because of the wires and brackets. With Invisalign, the ability to remove the aligners makes cleaning your teeth easy, convenient, and irritation-free.

3. Three-dimensional projections predict tooth movement

Invisalign uses a system called computer-aided design (CAD) to create your aligner trays. Each tray is designed to shift your teeth in small increments of around .25 to .33 millimeters.

Dr. Palmieri takes dental impressions of your teeth to create a mold of your mouth. Invisalign’s system then uses your impressions to create your aligners. You must wear your aligners in the order they’re provided, and you need to keep them in for about 22 hours each day.
